To say its been a challenging year would be an understatement. The impact of Covid has been far reaching, and has caused devastation beyond measure for families, friends, the global economy, and the Arts. It seems like ages ago since we were sitting in well-filled theatres and bustling around back stage with large casts and crews.
In these desperate times, it has been important to not only stay physically healthy and watch out for the health of our loved ones and friends, but to also stay emotionally healthy. That’s where the Arts can play a vital role in our lives.
We at FEST have tried to keep up the momentum as much as possible and have continued to offer the artistic activities, as best we could, which can help with the emotional support people need in these times.
We’ve been able to continue with Play Readings, virtually. We’ve been able to rehearse, mostly virtually. We had the opportunity mid-year to get back into the theatre for staged readings, monologues and duologues. We’ve continued to plan, organize and get ready for those precious opening nights with our One Acts when we thought it could be possible.
A huge and sincere THANK YOU goes out to all those involved with keeping the momentum going – directors, cast and crew.
Despite the setbacks, and financial stress, FEST will strive to be ready to raise the curtain on brilliant productions, when the situation permits, because we believe it is important to support humanity’s need for the Arts and continue to be a contribution for our community.
We wish all of you a very happy and healthy holiday season and look forward to seeing you in an upcoming FEST activity or production soon!
