Play Reading
As you all will have read in previous newsletters, play readings take place every third Tuesday of each month at 7pm. Again, our play reading in April proved to be a very interesting evening as we read two one act plays – both very different, but both had us talking and thinking over various issues for quite some time!
So, what’s up in May I hear you ask! Firstly, as mentioned in the last newsflash, the May play reading will take place on 14th May, at Sarnia’s place. We will be reading a full length original script written by a FEST member! Please let us know whether you can make it for the May date by replying to this email!
Here are the details for your diary:
When: Tuesday, 14 May 2013, 19:00 – 22:00 Where: Sarnia’s place, please reply to this email to get location details
What: “Bascombe’s Progress” by Monroe Coburn, led by me (Sarnia).
Set in a – let us say – unorthodox psychotherapeutical office, does “Bascombe’s Progress” hinge on the absurd antics of an eccentric, if not quite dotty circle of accomplices?
Play readings are a great opportunity to get to know new plays, socialise with fellow FESTers, and introduce new people to the group. If you have a play you would like to suggest, please get in touch with us – the more input we have, the better.
NB. Check with Jeff or I to see whether FEST already has a copy of a play you would like to read in our library – I’d be happy to simply host, lead the reading of your suggested play, or to support you in leading the reading.
FEST Official Annual Summer BBQ (FOASB)
As summer approaches, we are happy to say that a date has been set for the FEST annual summer BBQ. This event for FEST members is always a great opportunity for us all to get together for some good food, drinks and generally chat and let our hair down together.
Date: Saturday, 24 August 2013
If you are interested in joining the fun, simply sign up as a FEST member and put the date in your diary!
