The Plays:
A Time for Farewells – As they dress for a social event that will mark the end of their married life together, Sarah and Alex review their relationship to find out what brought them to this point. The play is an emotional, thought provoking drama, with flash-backs to scenes from their first meeting and the highs and lows of their relationship between then and today. Cast of 3 Men, 1 Woman.
The full script for A Time for Farewells is available here
Actor’s Nightmare – A man (George) finds himself inexplicably backstage one day. When he is confronted by the stage manager, Meg, it becomes apparent that he is the understudy for another actor and that he must perform in his stead. George cannot remember attending any rehearsals or being an actor at all (he instead believes that he is an accountant). To make matters worse, he is unable to get a straight answer as to what the play is. An actress named Sarah tells him that it is a Noel Coward play and the other actress Ellen tells him that it is a Samuel Beckett play. Literally forced on stage, George attempts to improvise his lines. Cast of 2 Men, 3 Women.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals will take place at central, easily accessible locations in Frankfurt. Rehearsals are usually 2 times per week, which may be just weekends or may be weekday evenings, depending on cast and director schedules of availability. More details provided during auditions.
Possible call backs will be held during week of 1 March at a venue to be announced at the auditions. If you would like to audition but cannot make any of these dates, please contact the directors via email (see below). If at all possible, we will arrange for alternative dates but it may be important to see actors read together in order to determine the best casts.
Audition scenes will be provided at the auditions – interested candidates will have sufficient time to read through them and prepare for the auditions.
Any further questions? Please mail us at [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you at the auditions!
