FEST Academy Workshop: Acting Foundations Course with Jeff Book
Have you always wanted to give acting a try, but weren’t sure how to start, or were apprehensive about getting started? Did you always wonder what it would take to prepare and perform on stage? Have you been to auditions, (or wanted to go), or been on stage once or twice, but would really like to work on the basics again so that you can improve your next performance and develop as an actor?
The Acting Foundations Course will introduce you to all the basic skills and techniques you need take on a role, develop the character, properly prepare for the performances and then perform confidently on stage.
The course is designed for beginners with no experience, or those who have had one or two small roles and want to further develop their skills.
A partial list of course content includes:
• Mock auditions
• Script analysis
• Character analysis and development
• Movement techniques
• Relaxation, concentration, presence, and warm-up techniques
• The rehearsal process
• Acting monologes and scenes
This course will take place on six Monday evenings from January 13 to February 17, 2025 in Frankfurt. The sessions will be a combination of theory, exercises and practical application of techniques, including preparing and acting several scenes.
Cost: € 225 euro
Course will be conducted with a minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 participants.
Dates: January 13, 20, 27, and February 3, 10, 17, 2025. Times: 7 pm to 9:30 pm. (attendance at all sessions is required, unless individual agreements are arranged with instructor)
About Jeff Book:
Jeff is an American actor, living in Germany for more than 25 years. Jeff has worked professionally over the last several years in film, TV, commercials and modeling projects and completed stage and film actor training in London at Rose Bruford College, Drama Studio London, Actor’s Studio at Pinewood Studios, City Academy London and International School of Screen Acting. After more than 20 years as a business executive, Jeff transitioned from part-time to full-time professional actor status in 2021 and is represented by Crawford Talents in Berlin. He has been performing on stage with FEST since 2007, with leading roles in productions of Death of A Salesman, Doubt: A Parable, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Broadway Bound, Our Country’s Good and many more. He also has several credits as a Director with FEST, including such works as Hitchcock’s Dial M for Murder, Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None and several more. Jeff also offers individual coaching for actors who are at the beginning and intermediate level of their development.
