Characters
Margot Wendice – a wealthy housewife
Max Halliday – American television crime writer, Margot’s former lover
Tony Wendice – Margot’s husband, former tennis pro
Captain Lesgate – Tony’s classmate at Cambridge, formerly known as Swann
Inspector Hubbard – police detective
Thompson – a policeman
At auditions, we will be looking for actors for roles as described above. There are no specific age ranges being sought, but of course the actors which play characters Margot, Max and Tony will need to be within the same age range of each other.
Audition dates
Tuesday July 21 (7:00pm), Saturday July 25 (3:00pm) and Wednesday July 29 (7:00pm) with call backs on Sunday Aug 2.
All auditions will be held at Saalbau Bockenheim, Schwälmer Straße 28, 60486 Frankfurt am Main.
Audition process
No experience is necessary to be considered for a role in the play. Auditions are open to the general public and no roles have been pre-cast. No actors will be paid and all cast and crew members must be FEST members (dues paid) before the first performance (this is for insurance purposes).
Each audition date will be run as group audition, which means everyone who has registered for an audition date must arrive at the beginning of that audition period (i.e. 7:00 pm Tues or Wed, 3:00 pm Sat). Once everyone has checked in, roles will be assigned and audition will start with everyone involved performing selected scenes as one “cast”. This enables the director to see multiple auditioners performing together.
Below is a typical schedule for a single audition period:
19:00 – 19:30 – present registration information (form or smartphone) and audition sheet, receive audition text of characters for which you would like to audition (multiple characters ok), begin reviewing the audition text with other auditioners
19:45 – director gives everyone overview of scenes to be performed
20:00 – start of audition scenes
Audition scenes and text will be available approximately one week before the audition dates and anyone who has pre-registered will receive the scenes and text via email.
Audition Sign-Up – please register not later than Monday, July 20
As you can see above, we’re asking people to sign up to audition this time. Please follow these simple instructions and sign up – it only takes a a couple of minutes:
