FEATS

Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies

For many years, FEST has been participating in FEATS, the Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies, the largest English-language theatre festival on the European continent. We are one of the regular hosts of this travelling one-act festival (1991, 1996, 2003, 2010, 2017). In 2023 FEST hosted FEATS for the sixth time at the Kurtheater Bad Homburg.

In recent years we have received many FEATS awards, the most recent is the Blackie Award going to Veronica Ries in 2026 for Sorry, Wrong Number. These include: the Award for Best Original Play, (2012, The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs) the Blackie Award for Best Actress (2026, Sorry, Wrong Number, 2009, Death in Heels and 2006, Wasp), the ECC Centennial Cup for Second Place (2008, Eleemosynary), the Mervyn Briscoe Award for Second Place (2006, WASP), the Marcel Huhn-Bruno Boeye Trophy for Stage Management (2004, Anti! Anti!) and the Award for Best Supporting Actor (1985, Between Mouthfuls).

Future FEATS hosts and locations are as follows:

Feats 2027
14–17 May 2027, hosted by NWTC in Luxembourg.

Feats 2028
Hosted by ECC in Brussels, Belgium.

Feats 2029
Hosted by Entity Theatre in Munich.

Feats 2030
Hosted by FEST in Frankfurt.

At the same time, FEATS is also a competitive theatre festival, as all of the productions are critically watched by an invited adjudicator, who, according to the statutes, must be a member of the Guild of Drama Adjudicators (GoDA).

He or she appraises all 12 productions according to the GoDA rules, and on the last night of the festival, hands out awards for the three best productions as well as for best stage presentation, best actor and best actress. The host goup gives out an award for best stage management. The FEATS rules can be accessed at feats.eu/feats-rules.

As we near the festival, we will keep you posted on what’s to come. Watch this space for more info.
