Developing the physical qualities and attributes of a character for stage or film performance is a fundamental skill actors need to master. When an actor takes on a role, there is a responsibility to create a character which is credible in several dimensions – psychologically, socially and physically. The “Building Character Physicality” workshop will help you to not only develop the physical attributes for a given character, but also combine the social and psychological components which ultimately define the physical presentation. In this workshop you will learn:
- building character physicality
- story telling through stage movement
- addressing technical challenges of character physicality on the stage
- introduction to Laban technique
- introduction to Method acting technique and influences on character physicality
- accessing emotional truth through physical expression
The workshop is a combination of theory and practical application exercises.
Cost per 2 day session: €120 for FEST Members and €150 for non-FEST Members
Course will be conducted with a minimum of 6 and maximum of 12 participants.
